1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly (phone number, name, profile photo), automatically (location data during active tasks, device identifiers, app usage patterns), and from third parties (payment processors). Location data is only collected during active tasks, not in the background.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to: match you with nearby tasks or helpers; process payments; resolve disputes; improve our platform; send important notifications; and ensure platform safety. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Location Data
ReachOut requires location access to show you nearby tasks and enable GPS tracking during active tasks. Location is only shared with the other party during an active task. We stop collecting location data when you close the app or end a task. Location history is retained for 90 days for dispute resolution purposes.
4. Payment Data
All payment processing is handled by Razorpay. ReachOut does not store full payment card details. We retain transaction records (amount, timestamp, task ID) for accounting and dispute resolution purposes.
5. Data Sharing
We share limited data with: (a) the other party in a task (name, profile photo, rating, location during active task); (b) Razorpay for payment processing; (c) our cloud infrastructure providers; and (d) law enforcement when legally required. We never sell your data.
6. Data Retention
Active account data is retained as long as your account is active. Location history: 90 days. Task records: 2 years (for dispute resolution). After account deletion, personal data is anonymized within 30 days, except where legally required to retain.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to: access your data; correct inaccurate data; delete your account; export your data; opt out of non-essential communications. To exercise these rights, use the app settings or email privacy@reachout.app.
8. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3) for all data in transit and AES-256 for sensitive data at rest. We conduct regular security audits. In the event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you within 72 hours.
9. Children's Privacy
ReachOut is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through in-app notifications. Continued use of ReachOut after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
